Slavery, a Fraught Subject in Angolan Classrooms
Four hundred years ago, the first enslaved Africans were brought to what is now the United States, landing in the English colony of Virginia. That first group came from Angola, seized by British pirates from a captured Portuguese slave ship. Young people people are learning about the slave trade.
