All is set for the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair exhibition which starts in Bulawayo Tuesday with 16 countries exhibiting this year, including newcomers Ghana.

The 54th edition of ZITF kicks off with 95% of exhibition space booked, amounting to 49,000 square metres.

ZITF chairperson Bekithemba Nkomo said space sold this year already surpasses last year's figures.

Mr. Nkomo said apart from new comers, Ghana, Tanzania is also exhibiting after a long absence.

ZITF general manager, Daniel Chigaru, said this year's showcase only has established businesses unlike previous years where they allowed flea market operators and vendors to buy space from which to sell their wares.

Mr. Chigaru said this is to accommodate business people seeking to negotiate marketing deals and establish networks, instead of turning the exhibition into a market place for vendors.

The ZITF is running under the theme 'Building value, enhancing growth'. It runs until Saturday and will be officially opened by Malawian president Joyce Banda on Friday.
