Zimbabwe health minister and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga became the first candidate of the Covid-19 vaccine that arrived in Zimbabwe on Monday.
Thronged by reporters, health workers, and other government officials at Wilkins Hospital in Harare, Chiwenga went through various stages of the vaccination process leading to the final shot in the arm.
Thursday marked the first day of the vaccination process, beginning with health care workers, police, and other high-risk groups.
The government announced that it plans to vaccinate 10-million people.
