Soccer legend, Barry Daka, has died.
According to his daughter, Lorraine, Daka passed away in the early Thursday morning following a short illness.
She said, “We are devastated by the death of our dearest father. We are shocked.
Lorraine said her father fell ill when he was on his way home from a football match in Bulawayo on Sunday.
“His health deteriorated in a short space of time and one of my sisters who is a medical doctor examined him and noted that he had a mild stroke and his blood pressure was very low. Unfortunately he passed away in the early hours of Thursday,” said Lorraine.
She said burial arrangements are being made for the late former Highlanders player and coach, who also had a stint with several soccer clubs in Zimbabwe and Botswana.
