Opposition Movement for Democratic Change Alliance activist, Makomborero Haruzivishe, has been granted $20,000 bail after spending nine months in jail.
According to his lawyers, as part of his bail conditions, Haruzivishe will be reporting twice at Harare Central Law and Order Section.
The High Court also ordered him to stay at his provided address of residence. He is facing fresh charges of breaching COVID-19 regulations.
Haruzivishewas locked up almost a year ago for inciting violence.
The state claimed that the 29-year-old blew a whistle to alert opposition protesters to pounce on police during a protest in February last year.
His attorney said only circumstantial evidence was used to convict him of inciting violence and resisting arrest.
According to Zimlive.com, Haruzivishe was granted bail pending appeal on his 14-month prison sentence in July last year but the 28-year-old remained in prison following the revocation of his bail on separate charges.
