Zimbabwe’s Davis Cup tennis team on Wednesday welcomed the news that doubles star Cara Black will continue to play for Zimbabwe despite reports she was seeking South African citizenship and might play for Pretoria in the Beijing 2008 Olympics.
Black dismissed the reports in an interview with the Herald newspaper Tuesday.
Non-playing Davis Cup captain Claudio Murape said her loyalty was gratifying.
He told sports reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that her presence will boost Zimbabwe's team morale when seeking gold in Beijing.
