Zimbabwe Teams Face Angolan, Egyptian Adversaries In Home Matches

This weekend's start of Zimbabwe's 2007 Premier Soccer League season seemed likely to be overshadowed by international matches in Harare and Bulawayo.

Mwana Africa was to tackle Angola’s Interclube in a round of the Confederation of African Football's CAF Confederation Cup at Rufaro Stadium in Harare, while PSL champion Highlanders was to confront Al Ahly of Egypt in an African Champions League first-leg clash at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo.

Highlanders hopes to upset favorites Al Ahly - but the Egyptians say they are not taking the game lightly because they are missing a few key players.

Al Ahly manager Hossam Elbadry told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that he has been pleased with the reception accorded his team in Zimbabwe, and is looking forward to Sunday's big game.
