Zimbabwe's Under-17 Soccer Team Heads for Reunion Qualifier

Zimbabwe's Young Warriors under-17 soccer team left Harare Thursday for Reunion and the second leg of a qualifying round for the African Youth Championship.

Under-17 organizers have been criticized for bungling logistical arrangements for the national youth team in key foreign matches. But the Zimbabwe Football Association says it was satisfied with the preparations for the Reunion under-17 match.

Zimbabwe and Reunion drew 1-1 in the first qualifier leg at Harare's Rufaro Stadium on September 16. Team officials said the Young Warriors hoped to bring off an upset in Reunion despite their somewhat rushed departure from Harare.

Reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye asked ZIFA board member for development Regis Dzenga why the Young Warriors left for Reunion at the last minute.
