The Citizens Coalition for Change led by Nelson Chamisa says its lawmaker Job Sikhala, who fell ill while in Chikurubi Remand Prison, has a stomach ailment and needs private medical help.

In a tweet, CCC spokesperson, Fazayi Mahere, said, “Hon @JobSikhala1 reports that he is feeling weak and has a burning sensation in his stomach. Arrangements are being made for him to receive private medical attention. The bottom line is that he must be accorded his constitutional right to bail.”

Sikhala, CCC legislator Godfrey Sithole and 14 others members of the opposition party are in remand prison facing charges of inciting political violence.

They allegedly made inflammatory remarks at a memorial service of the late CCC member, Moreblessing Ali, who was killed by a suspected Zanu PF supporter about two months ago.

Courts have constantly denied Sikhala and other bail saying they are flight risks.
