Zimbabweans authorities have seized two state-of-the-art vehicles at the Beitbridge border post belonging to underseige Zanu PF lawmaker, Justice Mayor Wadyajena.

According to the state-controlled Herald newspaper, the two vehicles were being allegedly shipped to South Africa.

The vehicles – a BMW and Lamborghini worth at least US$300,000 – have been clamped and are grounded at the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority yard at the border town.

Wadyajena, who is the Gokwe-Nembudziya Member of Parliament, is facing charges of fraud and money laundering amounting to US$5 million, together with some executives of the Cotton Company of Zimbabwe.

They allegedly converted money which was meant for the importation of bale ties and bought 25 trucks through Mayor Logistics, a company in which Wadyajena is believed to be the director. Another order was also diverted to their own use.

Wadyajena was this week granted ZWL$$200,000 bail by a Harare magistrate.
