Zimbabwe Labor Court Orders Striking Doctors to Return to Work

The Labor Court of Zimbabwe's Labor Court has declared the strike by the country's doctors, "unlawful" and had ordered the doctors to return to work.

An estimated 1,600 doctors have been on strike since September 3rd, citing incapacitation due to poor salaries and working conditions.

Despite the ruling, however, Dr. Masimba Dean Ndoro of the Zimbabwe Hospital Doctor’s Association, said they don't plan to return to work until the employer meets their demands.

"We simply don't have the means to go to work," said Ndoro, adding, "doctors remain incapacitated to return to work, and financial obligations have not been addressed."
