WASHINGTON DC —
Zapu says it will create jobs for millions of Zimbabweans if the party is elected into power in the forthcoming elections.
Party leader Dumiso Dabenga told supporters at Stanley Square in Bulawayo on Saturday when he launched the Zapu election campaign that his party will create conducive business conditions in Zimbabwe soon after winning the polls this year.
Mr. Dabengwa said this will enable the economy to generate jobs for millions of unemployed people.
He further said his party will also revive the agricultural sector which almost collapsed following the invasion of white commercial farms by Zanu PF supporters 13 years ago.

In a related development, the MDC formation led by Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai is expected to launch its election campaign Sunday.
Party organizing secretary Nelson Chamisa said the MDC-T is already finding it difficult to market its policies in the public media ahead of the polls.

The party is still engaging some so-called rebels who filed their papers to contest as independents in the next elections after losing in the primary elections.
In Vungu Constituency, the party’s parliamentary candidate Ezra Tshisa Sibanda, has dismissed as nonsensical remarks by losing candidate Marko Moyo that Sibanda did not go through the right channels to secure the party’s candidacy.
“This gentleman is just day dreaming. He has been a disaster in the community and I believe that he is now standing as an independent because he is power hungry … I was overwhelmingly chosen by the people to represent them here,” said Mr. Sibanda.
He owns his parents’ deceased homestead in Vungu where he was born.

Mr. Moyo further claimed that Sibanda does is not eligible to participate in the polls as an MDC-T candidate because “he does not have any property here.” He stood as an independent in the 2008 parliamentary elections after losing in the MDC-T primaries.
