The Movement for Democratic Change formation led by president Morgan Tsvangirai says it is in the process of forming a burial society and working out ways of introducing a medical insurance scheme to cater for its membership.
The announcement follows a weekend meeting of the MDC-T where Mr. Tsvangirai met with the Harare provincial leadership to discuss issues affecting the country and the party’s roadmap for 2015.
Party spokesman Obert Gutu says a draft constitution for the burial society is already in place and hopes it should be operational by February.
The party also announced that it will soon launch an electronic membership card.
Gutu says the electronic card will improve the way the party’s structures are managed.
He adds that Mr. Tsvangirai took advantage of the weekend meeting to explain how the two schemes will work.
The meeting, which is part of a series of forthcoming party gatherings, was meant to also discuss problems currently affecting Zimbabwe.
