Apex Council members will Wednesday meet to discuss issues affecting civil servants and Finance Minister Patrick Chinamasa’s mid-term fiscal policy, which civil servants say contained nothing to improve their lot.
Apex Council chairman Richard Gundani said also on the table is the government’s failure to honour its commitment to give civil servants non-monetary incentives, such as stands to build houses.
Gundani said the organization will after the meeting, ask the government for a meeting of the National Joint Negotiating Forum so they can present and further discuss their resolutions.

But Progressive Teachers’ Union of Zimbabwe general secretary Raymond Majongwe said he felt that the Apex Council was not doing enough to help civil servants.
Majongwe said it was through the insistence of his union that the Apex Council meeting was sanctioned.
He said ever since this year the council had met less that three times to discuss their plight.
