President Robert Mugabe and former Zanu-PF chairman Simon Khaya Moyo, now party spokesman, have been dragged to the courts by expelled former secretary for administration, Didymus Mutasa, and former party spokesman, Rugare Gumbo.

Mutasa and Gumbo are challenging the constitutionality of the December congress that they say breached the Zanu-PF constitution.

Mr. Mugabe and his lieutenants have been warning Mutasa against taking the party to court saying Zanu-PF matters must not be challenged in court.

But political analysts are saying after the expulsion of Mutasa from parliament Tuesday, the gloves are off.

Gumbo told VOA Studio 7’s Blessing Zulu that court papers have been filed.
