The Zimbabwe Democracy Institute (ZDI) is warning the government to institute both economic and political reforms to avoid a total collapse of the country.

The think tank, in its latest report titled ‘Zimbabwe Political Economy Review: The Economic Contradictions in Zimbabwe Job Losses' says the country is currently “gripped by a gnawing sense of fear and uncertainty.”

The ZDI, which argues that the unemployment rate in the country has reached 95 percent, says the recent job losses will result in Zimbabweans flocking to Botswana and South Africa.

The government though maintains that unemployment is around 10 percent.
