Germany went on the rampage Tuesday in the 2014 World Cup as they led Brazil 5-0 at half time in what was a one-sided quarter final.

Thomas Muller opened the flood gates in the 11th minute with Miroslav Klose making it 2-0 in the 23rd minute before Toni Kroos scored his first goal a minute later.

Kroos scored another goal in the 26th minute and Sami Khedira drilled a grounder past a spread-eagled Brazilian goalie in the 29th minute.

The Brazilian World Cup dream was in tatters as the teams went for the half-time breather.

Germany came fighting after the breather and Andre Schuerrle scored two more goals in the second half to make it 7-1. Brazil scored a face saver in the last minute of the game.

The match will go down in history as the worst-ever performance by a Brazilian side. The south Americans have been known by their 'smart' football known as Samba.

Germany will play against either the Netherlands or Argentina in the final.
