Former Rebel Leader of Opposition Renamo Dies Ahead of 2019 Elelections

Former guerrilla leader of the opposition Mozambique National Resistance Movement (Renamo), Afonso Dhlakama, died Thursday in the party stronghold town of Gorongosa, reported state broadcaster TVM . Dhlakama, 65, was due to face President Filipe Nyusi in the 2019 presidential elections.
