The International Federation Of Association Football, better known as FIFA, has pledged US$^50,000 to help the Zimbabwe Football Association develop its organizational capacity, football for women and and soccer for the young.

FIFA officials announced the pledge at the end of a retreat in Kariba over the weekend involving FIFA and ZIFA officials.

ZIFA Acting Chief Executive Jonathan Mashingaidze told VOA Studio 7 reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye the funds will arrive in tranches beginning in January.

Elsewhere, the Zimbabwe Soccer Coaches Association has enacted tough rules for Premier Soccer League coaches, requiring despite objections from some quarters that they all have level-four certification, reported correspondent Michael Kariati from Harare.
