Zimbabwe’s under-19 cricket team has gone into training camp ahead of a series of six one-day internationals and two Twenty20 matches against Pakistan in early October with Cricketer of the Year P.J. Moore sidelined with an injured knee.
Matches will be played October 1-13 at the Harare Sports Club as well as at two Harare schools - St. John College and St. Georges.
Zimbabwe Cricket confirmed that the Pakistani team will arrive September 29.
Zimbabwe Under Head Coach Kevin Curran said that despite Moore's likely absence he had a strong group of players to field including spinner Tinotenda Mugombodzi and outstanding batsmen Dylon Higgins and Nathan Waller.
Cricket analyst Brian Goredema told VOA reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye that Moore's knee injury could spell disaster for Zimbabwe against the more experienced Pakistani side.
