Indigenous Drivers to Compete In Harare Auto Rally for First Time

Sixteen Zimbabweans will compete in the Toyota Zimbabwe Challenge Rally to be held in Harare August 28-30, facing teams from Kenya, Uganda, South Africa and Namibia.

Zimbabwe Motor Sport Federation Development Officer Temba Mazvimbakupa told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye that this will be an historic race because for the first time in the traditionally white-dominated sport three of the drivers on the track will be black.

He said drivers Biggie Chitima, George Chitepo and Robson Maganezi will be aiming to make a mark at an event that is seen attracting more indigenous competitors in future.
