Zimbabwe's CBZ Cup Final Match Set For November 18 In Bulawayo

The Zimbabwe Football Association has set the date and venue for the CBZ Cup final between Dynamos and Highlanders – the soccer match will be played on Sunday, Nov. 18, at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo.

This means Dynamos, currently topping the Premier League logs, will be playing away from home with steep transport costs for fans who want to cheer it on.

Dynamos's home ground, Rufaro Stadium in Harare, has been closed so that artificial turf can be laid, and it is not likely to be ready in time to host the final.

Dynamos Manager David Mandigora told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that his team is eager to face Highlanders but for now is concentrating on the remaining games in its PSL schedule.

The CBZ Cup winner will claim Z$150 million and the runner-up Z$75 million, with the rest distributed to other participating teams including Division One sides.

But sponsor Commercial Bank of Zimbabwe indicated it might increase the purse to take into account inflation which was last seen close to 8,000%.
