In sharp contrast to its stunning upset of Australia, Zimbabwe's cricket team managed only 138 runs in 20 overs for the fall of 7 wickets in reply to England's 188 for 9 in their Group B match Thursday in the Twenty20 championships in Cape Town.
After many a bitter defeat, Zimbabwe stunned Australia on Wednesday, defeating it by five wickets in opening the International Cricket Council Twenty20 World Cup.
Zimbabwe Cricket manager, Givemore Makoni told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that his team simply outplayed Australia on Wednesday, though the following day it went down to England by 50 runs.
Zimbabwe awaits the outcome of the Australia-England match to learn its standing.
