Young Zimbabwean Cricketers Get Tips From Aussie Spin Legend Jenner

Renowned spin coach Terry Jenner said he was impressed with the level of play among Zimbabwean secondary school players

Legendary Australian spin coach Terry Jenner says he was impressed with the level of skills among young Zimbabwean cricket players in the course of a 10-day workshop at schools in Harare, the capital, and Bulawayo.

Jenner coached students from Emakhandeni Secondary School, the Christian Brothers College, Luveve High School and Mtshingwe College in Bulawayo and Prince Edward School, St Georges College and St John’s School in Harare including junior spin bowlers from Takashinga Cricket Club.

The renowned spin coach influenced fellow Australian, Shayne Warne, rated one of the all-time greatest leg spinners in cricket.

Jenner, 66, told VOA Studio7 reporter Marvellous Mhlanga Nyahuye that he believes he still has a lot to offer Zimbabwean players especially at franchise level, and was pleasantly surprised by the local playing level.
