WASHINGTON DC —
Opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) leader Morgan Tsvangirai was in Gweru Thursday as he continued his meet the people tour through the country’s local authorities, most of which are controlled by his party.
Tsvangirai interacted with vendors at a number of including Ascot, Mkoba and Mambo. He was accompanied by the Mayor of Gweru, Hamutendi Kombayi.
He also visited factory shells and new vending stalls constructed by the MDC-run council.
Speaking after the tour, Tsvangirai said local authorities around the country are facing similar problems, including lack of revenues to fund service delivery and other projects.
Meanwhile, on Thursday VOA Studio 7’s Blessing Zulu is asking the MDC-T leader questions posed to him from our Facebook platform.
Some of the questions will also be directed to secretary general of MDC Renewal Team, Tendai Biti, and leader of the other MDC, Welshman Ncube.
