Colourful Castle Lager Premier Soccer League club, Motor Action, were on Saturday relegated to Division One after they were defeated 2-0 by fully charged Black Rhinos in their backyard.

The blow has also knocked down thousands of soccer fans who were hoping to see the side survive relegation and play in the premier league next season.

But that will no longer be the case for the only individually sponsored team in Zimbabwean football that has a stadium. They cannot survive the dreaded chop even if they win the remaining four games.

Pegged at 18 points, the Mighty Bulls can only reach a total of 30 points which are two less than the next survival position in the top flight league.

It is saddening, for all what they have done for Zimbabwean football, to see Eric and Lizzy Rosen go down with their team that had added colour to Zimbabwean football. Their musical group entertained fans in soccer matches as it played tunes in support of the Mighty Bulls.

Also joining the Mighty Bulls to division one are Tripple B who have proved that they are not Premier Soccer League material after being massacred 5-0 at home by Triangle. Tripple B have joined the increasing band of clubs who get relegated on the same year they are promoted.

As the football family mourns the departure of Motor Action, it is also a day that Harare City are celebrating after rocketing to the top of the table by beating Buffaloes 2-1 at Rufaro Stadium. Harare City now have 48 points, one point

Their honeymoon, however, could be short-lived as one of either Highlanders or Dynamos could still overtake them after their showdown at Barbourfields Stadium tomorrow.

Caps United and How Mine on Saturday warmed up for their Mbada Diamonds Cup semi-final set for November 10 with the 'Green Machine' narrowly winning 1-0 at the National Sports Stadium on the same day fourth-placed FC Platinum also beat neighbours Shabanie Mine 1-0.

In the English Premier Soccer League, Manchester United beat Stoke City 3-2. Arsenal 2, Crystal Palace 0; Everton 2, Aston Villa 0; Liverpool 4, West Bromwich 1; Norwich City 0, Cardiff 0.
