Zimbabwe football fans are worried that they may not be able to watch the African Cup of Nations final next year in Angola following word from the state broadcaster, Zimbabwe Broadcasting Holdings, that it can't come up with the US$5 million demanded by event organizers for television rights.
The Zimbabwe Warriors are not playing in the Nations Cup, but football fans were looking forward to watching the finals on local television.
The tournament opens in Angola on January 10.
Monomotapa Football Club Secretary David Makombe told VOA Studio 7 reporter Marvellous Mhlanga Nyahuye that local players are disappointed for professional reasons that they won't be able to see the finals.
