WASHINGTON DC —
Zimbabwe’s reigning Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions, Dynamos Football Club, retained the coveted cup Sunday when they dismissed How Mine 2-0 as strong title contenders ZPC Kariba were beaten 3-2 by CAPS United at Gwanzura Stadium in Harare.
Dynamos, who led How Mine 1-0 before half-time, dismissed the minnows in a lucklustre performance in the second half to land the title, making them eligible once again to participate in the Confederation of African Football’s Africa Champions League.
It was a sweet win for Dembare, who struggled in their last game before their encounter at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday with How Mine, which gave ZPC Kariba a two-point lead with only one match remaining.
The Kariba boys fell by two goals in the first half before CAPS United scored their third goal in the second half.
Dynamos has dominated the league in the past eight years.
