WASHINGTON DC —
The Media Institute of Southern Africa has condemned Matabeleland South Provincial Minister, Abednico Ncube, for allegedly threatening Southern Eye reporter Albert Ncube with violence.
The Zanu PF minister is said to have threatened to beat up Ncube on Monday, saying the Gwanda-based journalist has been writing “nonsense” about him.
On Thursday, Ncube crossed paths again with Albert in the small town and doubled down on his threats. The minister fumed at another Southern Eye reporter Nduduzo
Tshuma on Thursday when he sought comment on his alleged threats against Albert.
MISA-Zimbabwe boss Njabulo Ncube says the minister’s conduct is appalling. His sentiments were echoed by the organization’s programs officer Thabani Moyo.
