WASHINGTON DC —
Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) founding president Morgan Tsvangirai is expected to hold a meeting with provincial party members in Harare on Saturday to discuss issues affecting Zimbabwe.
MDC-T spokesman Obert Gutu says Mr. Tsvangirai will meet with the Harare supporters at the showgrounds’ Rajiv Gandi Hall to discuss ways of curbing on-going company closures, lack of jobs and the general state of the economy.
Gutu says the party leader will also focus on a proposed all-stakeholders national consultation meeting designed to tackle the country’s social, economic and political challenges.
The World Bank has projected that Zimbabwe’s fast declining economy is likely to grow by about 3.2 percent this year at a time when thousands of workers are losing their jobs due to the harsh economic environment.
