Australian Based Zimbabwe Songstress Tarisai Vushe Releases Sizzling Hit 'Revive US'

Australian-based, Zimbabwean-born singer Tarisai Vushe has released a sizzling hit song Revive Us off her forth coming album, Redemption, set to be released next month. The song was produced in Augusta Georgia, in the United States of America.

In an exclusive interview with VOA Studio 7, Vushe says her song, Revive Us, talks about the trials and tribulations in her home country Zimbabwe in particular and the world in general.

“We have been having a lot of problems particularly our country Zimbabwe. We have been going through an economic crisis for a number of years and in the world there are many conflicts and potential conflicts. There is even a threat of a potential nuclear war between America and North Korea. Apart from these problems, there are also natural disaster affecting many countries.”

So how does Revive US help? Vushe responds: “I just felt it was a song that would uplift people.” She adds that the song has a message of love and is an appeal to God to rekindle the spirit of love, tolerance and forgiveness leading to world peace.

Australian Idol

Vushe was an early favorite in the 2007 Australian Idol competition – but came fifth. That didn't stop her from pursuing her music career. In 2010, she released a debut single titled “Head Over Heels” before more than 50,000 people in Sydney. The singer thrilled Idol audiences when she performed Whitney Houston's hit song "I Have Nothing" during the talent contest.

The singer then landed a role in the Disney Musical “The Lion King”. In her unmistakably blooming music career, Tarisai has worked with some of biggest names in the Australian entertainment industry including David Caplice, John Foreman, David Champion, & Producer Audius Mtawarira.

Tarisai also signed a record deal with independent label, Tommirock Records, while she was in the process of writing and recording her debut album with ARIA charting producer Tom Williams.

In 2014, Tarisai landed a new role in the Disney Musical “The Lion King”. In this musical group, she landed a total of three roles covering Shenzi and Rafiki and she was also part of the ensemble. These achievements by Vushe indicate that she is arguably one of the most successful Zimbabweans performing in International talent shows.
