Zimbabwe's Struggling Kiglon Football Club Puts Itself Up for Sale

Kiglon Treasurer Farai Mbasera said the club's monthly running cost of US$20,000 is too much for management to meet

A senior official of Zimbabwe's Kiglon Football Club confirmed Monday that the club is for sale given hefty running costs, but dismissed a Sunday Mail report saying Harare businessman Phillip Chiyangwa was a bidder for the Premier Soccer League franchise.

Reached by VOA Studio 7, Chiyangwa declared that the Sunday Mail report was without substance.

Kiglon Treasurer Farai Mbasera told VOA Studio 7 reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye that he knew nothing about a bid by Chiyangwa, and explained that the club's monthly running cost of US$20,000 is just too much for the current owners to meet.
