Chinese leader Xi Jinping winds-up his visit to Zimbabwe with President Robert Mugabe heaping praise on China for its support over the years, which he said has helped Harare offset the effects of Western sanctions. Mr. Mugabe said Mr. Xi’s the visit strengthened relations between the two countries.

But most ordinary Zimbabweans have a negative view of the Chinese people in general and they particularly loathe cheap Chinese imports that have flooded the country over the years.

Zimbabwe’s opposition political parties sign the National Electoral Reforms Agenda seeking to push for electoral changes ahead of the 2018 national elections.
