Zimbabwe's Gunners to Face Tanzania's Mafunzo in CAF Champions Qualifier

Zimbabwe's Gunners Football Club has learned that it will face Mafunzo of Zanzibar, Tanzania, in the second week of February in its first qualifying match for the Confederation of African Football Champions League.

The team will travel to Zanzibar, a semi-autonomous partner in the union with Tanganyika, forming Tanzania, the second weekend in February.

Club Chairman Teddy Kasaira tells VOA Studio 7 reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye that morale is high despite the departure of coach Moses Chunga. He left the club last week to take charge of Shooting Stars.

Gunners, 2009 title holders of Zimbabwe's Premier Soccer League, is taking part in the Champions League this year along with runner-up Dynamos, and has started acquiring players to boost the team ahead of its first qualifier.
