Floods on Saturday claimed the lives of 10 Zimbabweans in Mashonaland West Province following heavy rains, according to the state-controlled Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation.
The ZBC quoted police as saying the deaths included seven relatives and another person who died when the vehicle they were travelling in was swept away at Ngwazani River Bridge in Kadoma.
Police identified the dead as Nomatter Ndodo, his wife Magneta Musariri, 2 year-old son Tawananyasha Ndodo, Edes Musariri, 9 year-old son Benedict Mhande, 4 year-old daughter Catherine Mhande, 20 month-old son Chris Mhande and Ngezi man, Ngonidzashe Gavi.
Police have also reported that 2 people were swept away by a flooded Angwa River in the same province while 20 remain marooned along the river following heavy rains.
