Young Zimbabwean entrepreneur Amanda Lieto is in Washington D.C, United States, to represent the country at the Global Students Entrepreneur Awards where she will face off 42 other international competitors.

Lieto, who runs an information technology firm she launched while at the University of Zimbabwe from where she was selected, is expected to deliver her key note business presentation Thursday.

Lieto says she hopes to win the $10,000 prize money as well as $150,000 in programme aid to help her business grow that will be awarded to the winner of the competition.

The competition is run by the International Entrepreneur Organisation and is geared to support students grow in their business skills.

Lieto says she hopes to fly the Zimbabwe’s flag high as well as help promote young women interested in developing their business skills.
