An 18 year old aspiring fashion model, Nyasha Mateta, recently wooed people at the just ended Women Of Dominion International conference in Delaware, here in the United States.
Mateta says she enjoys modelling and is inspired by Zimbabwean designer Edna Ndebele who designs, makes and runs her own clothing boutique in Cincinnati Ohio.
Mateta, who is one of the young women who modelled Ndebele’s designs, says she has just graduated high school and now hopes to go to University to further her education so that she can one day go home and offer her expertise to Zimbabwe.
“I love modelling especially these designs by Edna Ndebele but my plan is to go to college to further my education as I just graduated high school and have already been accepted at University,” she said not forgetting to mention her love for her homeland Zimbabwe.
Meanwhile, another Zimbabwean Seglitter Sangaza Masundire says she has taken up selling jewelry to supplement her income and is also involved in supporting projects that make life easier for people living with albinism.
“I recently learnt of the work Women of Dominion are doing in Zimbabwe to help those living with albinism and I will be assisting this programme as it is my passion to also work with people back home. I hope that with the contacts I made here I will be make a difference to the people back home,”said Sangaza.
Sangaza says she is currently pursuing further studies but will continue to sell her jewellery and also assist others back home.
