Zimbabwe Cricket Team Pips New Zealand in One-Day International

Zimbabwe defeated New Zealand by one wicket with just one ball to spare in the dramatic one-day international in Bulawayo concluding a series of three

The Zimbabwe national cricket team put up a remarkable performance on Tuesday to defeat New Zealand by one wicket with just one ball to spare in the dramatic conclusion of a one-day international series ending in Bulawayo.

The hero of the day was all-rounder Malcolm Waller who scored 99 runs not out to propel Zimbabwe past the 328 target set by the New Zealand side.

Waller stood his own even as he lost partners like Elton Chigumbura and four crucial wickets as the ballgame went into its last few overs.

Zimbabwe lost the previous two matches of the series, played in Harare.

Sports commentator Muziwethu Hadebe told VOA Studio 7 reporter Ntungamili Nkomo that the dramatic win shows Zimbabwe is ready to return to international test play.
