The Zimbabwe Football Association has apologized to Warriors coach Kalisto Pasuwa for firing him with no reasons to back their decision.

In a statement newly elected ZIFA president Phillip Chiyangwa apologized “for the mishap” that has seen the Warriors break camp after only three days of training.

Chiyangwa also apologized to Pasuwa’s manager Gibson Mahachi, who was accused of double standards as one of the reasons for Pasuwa’s short-lived departure.

Reports say Pasuwa is refusing to take up the post until he is given a written contract.

Chiyangwa said the association "will inevitably render him necessary support as he prepares for the 2016 CHAN finals.

“We are very confident that his wonderful exploits will bring success and glory to our football loving nation.”

Zimbabwe are in group D alongside Zambia, Mali and Uganda in the CHAN tournament.
