World Cup Soccer Reaches Quarter Finals

In the World Cup, eight teams will be battling it out Friday and Saturday in the quarterfinals of the soccer-fest.

Netherlands plays Brazil and Uruguay faces Ghana Friday. Argentina tackles Germany and Paraguay meets Spain Saturday.

With Africa represented by just one team in the quarterfinals, the International Federation Of Association Football is calling for development of the sport in Africa.

It spends 70 million dollars a year in Africa, but says good governance of the sport in African countries is essential.

Warriors interim coach Norman Mapeza tells Voice Of America's Studio7 reporter, Marvellous Mhlanga Nyahuye that management is poor in many African Associations, so he was not surprised to see Ghana reach this stage as it provides strong support to junior teams.
