President Mugabe Installs VPs, Cabinet Ministers

Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe on Friday officially installed his two deputies Emmerson Mnangagwa and Phelekezela Mphoko, as well as new Ministers following a Cabinet reshuffle.

On top of their vice presidential roles, Mnangagwa will continue leading the Justice Ministry while Mphoko, a career diplomat, becomes Minister of National Healing.

The new Cabinet line-up also includes Simon Khaya Moyo who was appointed Minister of Economic Planning, former Foreign Affairs deputy minister Christopher Mutsvangwa who now leads the newly-created War Veterans Welfare Ministry.

Mutsvangwa’s wife, Monica is now deputy to Information and Broadcasting Minister Jonathan Moyo.

Opah Muchinguri was given the Higher Education Ministry while Christopher Mushowe is now Indigenization Minister.

Former deputy Information Minister Super Mandiwanzira, who now heads the Information Technology Ministry told Studio 7 he was looking forward to his new job.

“Our priority will be to facilitate the work of government through ICT to ensure that our turnaround blueprint will facilitate all activities under ZIMASSET by ensuring that our ICT infrastructure is in place to ensure delivery and efficiency,” Mandiwanzira said.
