Zimbabwe Cricketers Take Offensive Against Bangladesh, Series Now 2-1


After two straight losses, Zimbabwe's national cricket team fired up all cylinders on Friday and posted an impressive 323 runs to defeat Bangladesh by 69 in the third match of five one-day Internationals at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.

Hamilton Masakadza posted his maiden ODI century with 102 runs, supported by Brendan Taylor scoring 94. Man of the match Elton Chigumbura added 61 runs as well as taking two wickets contributing significantly to Zimbabwe's comeback victory.

But Bangladesh still leads in the series by 2-1.

Cricket analyst Dumisani Zikali told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that morale was high on the host team which at last looked competitive.
