The Zimbabwe cricket team’s hopes of pulling off an upset against South Africa were dashed Wednesday as they lost to the visiting Proteas in the first of 10 one-day international matches played at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.
Even the presence of International Cricket Council President Ray Mali, in country for consultations with Zimbabwe Cricket officials, could not inspire the Zimbabweans.
Correspondent Joseph Njanji told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 that Zimbabwe nonetheless made a commendable showing.
