Former Zimbabwe Cricket Captain Rejoins Team After Two Year Absence

Former Zimbabwe national cricket team captain Tatenda Taibu, who resigned in 2005 saying his safety and that of his family had been threatened and who had expressed dissatisfaction with how cricket was being run, rejoined the team on Tuesday.

Taibu played his first match with Zimbabwe’s select team against India’s "A" team.

Zimbabwe Cricket spokesman Blessing Maulgue told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that the cricket organization is leaving the door open to all of the players who quit the team in recent years.

Zimbabwe and India are playing four one-day tournaments - at the end of play on Tuesday, India had scored 331 runs with the loss of 5 wickets.
