Zimbabwe Cricket has come under the glare of scrutiny once again with the release of a damning International Cricket Council report alleging financial irregularities.
The report is expected to be tabled at an ICC board meeting under way in London and could spell disaster for Zimbabwe Cricket Chairman Peter Chingoka and colleagues who, the report is said to allege, falsified accounts to mask illegal transactions.
Zimbabwean cricket supporters were hoping the report would shed some light on what has brought about the continued deterioration of the sport in Zimbabwe. The national team has been devastated by internal divisions, resignations and scandals.
Sports commentator Brian Goradema told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that the explosive report is being openly discussed in Zimbabwe and fans hope it will prompt action to reverse the sport's decline.
