Zimbabwe Football Association In Shuffle Of National Coaching Staff

The Zimbabwe Football Association, under pressure in recent weeks to fire national coach Charles Mhlauri over recent losses, Tuesday dismissed the entire coaching staff in a restructuring meant to restore the team's international fortunes.

Mhlauri was the prime casualty of the exercise. ZIFA Chief Executive Henrietta Rushwaya said that although all national team coaches have been dismissed, Mhlauri may be reassigned though she would not be drawn further on the subject.

The decision was reached Tuesday at a heated meeting and amongst pressure from fans for the national football body to fire the coach following the failure of the national team, the Warriors, to qualify for the 2008 Africa Cup Of Nations.

But sports commentator Michael Kariati tells reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye he is doubtful this is the last Zimbabwean soccer will hear of Mhlauri.
