Zimbabwe Women's Soccer Team Faces Guinean Rivals In Harare

Zimbabwe's Mighty Warriors women's national soccer team faces Guinea's women's team on Sunday at Rufaro Stadium in Harare in a winner-takes-all match to decide which team will advance to the next round of qualifying for the 2008 Olympics.

The International Federation of Football, or FIFA, canceled the first leg of the qualifier last month, citing unsafe playing conditions for the teams in Guinea, which has been experiencing deadly labor and political unrest in recent months. So the teams are to play just one match to see who moves to the next Olympic qualifying round.

Mighty Warriors coach Rosemary Mugadza told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that her players were ready for whatever the Guinean team might come up with in Sunday's match.
