S. Africa-Based Striker Bujira Hopes For Spot With Zimbabwe Warriors

Despite two years on the bench waiting for a South African residence permit, former Zimbabwe warriors striker Alois Bujira on Sunday proved he has still got it by helping Jomo Cosmos beat Wits University, his former club, 4-0 in a premiership match.

Bujira said the permit delays he experienced are a common hurdle and frustration for foreign players trying to establish themselves in South Africa.

Patience and will power helped him through difficult times, he said. Bujira now hopes to be drafted into the Warriors squad for the 2008 Africa Cup Of Nations and called on national team coach Charles Mlauri to give players like him another chance.

Bujira told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe he was confident his current good form will secure him a spot with the Warriors.
