Zimbabwe's Premier Soccer League Mulls Early Start To 2007 Play

Zimbabwe's Premier Soccer League says it will start the 2007 season early so teams can get a jump on preparing for international matches.

The season may begin in February instead of March if the P-S-L can get the backing of a majority of teams.

P-S-L officials say this will give local Warriors members time to prepare for 2008 Africa Cup Of Nations qualifiers that start March 25 against Morocco.

The move will also give Highlanders and Mwana Africa, now slated to represent Zimbabwe in Continental Tournaments this year, a head-start on their preparations. Premier League Secretary General Kennedy Ndebele told Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye that he’s confident the teams will back the move.
