Zimbabwe Premier League Secretary General Kenny Ndebele has hailed a decision by the Zimbabwe Football Association to continue supporting the participation of junior and women’s football teams in international matches.
ZIFA Vice Chairman Tendai Madzorera said earlier this week that ZIFA might have to take the junior and womens teams off the international roster next season.
But late Tuesday he announced that his association’s board will meet in the new year to come up with a plan that will be presented to the government outlining the logistical and budgetary needs of junior and women’s national teams and asking for funds.
Reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe interviewed Ndebele about the response by ZIFA to the youth and women's funding crisis.
